Today, we dive into invaluable insights gained from my millionaire mentors over the past decade. Grab your notebook, because these lessons WILL transform your practice and mindset. (keep an eye on a hidden present I have spaced somewhere in this email … I am not giving away any more secrets 🤫)
Here we go …
Lesson 1: Entrepreneurs Aren’t “Normal People”
There’s a massive contrast between entrepreneurs and those with “normal jobs.” Entrepreneurs think differently, they see opportunities where others see obstacles. They embrace risks and uncertainty as a way to grow. While normal thinking may favour stability, entrepreneurial thinking thrives on innovation and change. If you want to succeed in business, and you want your practice to start booming in the next 12 months and beyond, adopt the mindset of a business owner, not a “civilian”.
One of my early mentors told me this:“Stefan, we think growth … We make decisions using our growth mindset … unlike most people who think from a place of scarcity. You want to be successful - start thinking how to expand - not contract”

Lesson 2: Understanding ‘Cognitive Calories’
Early stages of entrepreneurship demand relentless grinding and hard work. There is no way around it. However, true success (especially long term) comes when you shift to making smarter decisions using mental models. Hard work is still necessary - but - hard work combined with smart work compounds enormously. You can work very hard on the wrong thing, with the wrong people, in the most ineffective way … remember that next time you feel stuck or burnout.
My mentors emphasised that conserving cognitive energy for high-impact decisions is crucial. The ability to think critically and have clarity will pay you massive dividends. Each morning you wake up - you have 24hrs worth of “energy” - how you use it, and where you use it, will hugely determine the level of your success.

Lesson 3: The Answers Lie in the Basics
My mentors taught me that simplicity holds the greatest leverage. Focusing on fundamental aspects like daily routines, doing the business basics extremely well, can drive significant practice growth. If we use First Principles Thinking (see article here) - we understand that the most fundamental and important part of any business is its service or product. If you do not (or cannot) deliver great results for your clients, then no amount of facebook ads, or marketing or new patients will help you build a long sustainable business model. Prioritising excellent service quality is foundational. A great chiropractic service makes everything else—marketing, sales, and customer retention—much easier.

Lesson 4: Think SYSTEMS, Not COMPONENTS
Your business, much like a patient, is a system of interconnected components. Sales, marketing, recruiting, and team development are not isolated activities but part of a larger ecosystem.
Changing one aspect - impacts others. Change your brand - and you’ve changed sales. Change marketing - and it changes the brand. Change your team - and it changes the service. You get the point. Approach your business holistically to create synergy and drive success.

Lesson 5: Tracking Your Metrics (aka know your numbers)
Just as you use an Oura ring or Apple Watch to monitor your health, you need tools to measure your business’s health and performance. Start by identifying critical KPIs🎁.
I was fortunate enough to have a tool I’ve literally used from day 1 of my business. Over time, it has evolved to something we now use across my whole clinic to measure everything - from % of ROF conversions, to total visit numbers, to number of weekly DNA/Cancellations, to individual chiropractor’s performance and so on. Be sure to measure and understand your baseline first, then make data-driven changes using a tool like my KPI Success Tracker.

The biggest reason I was able to take my clinic from zero to 7 figures is the ability to know where and how we are performing currently, have a way to see patterns and trends, and then take action to influence those metrics. Everything in life and business is about cause and effect. I do X and Y happens … This is just SO important to understand (if you want to help more patients, create financial freedom and have fun along the way).
Conclusion
These five lessons from my millionaire mentors have been life changing - so don’t just read these articles - model what others have already done and just do it for your practice.
By adopting an entrepreneurial mindset, conserving cognitive energy, focusing on the basics, thinking in systems, andtracking key metrics, you can scale your practice effectively AND predictably.
