How To Improve Every Single Metric In Your Business

If you are a business owner - chances are - you’ve heard of the 80/20 Pareto Principle

Vilfredo Federico Damaso Pareto was born in Italy in 1848. Even though we’re in 2024 now, the concept he discovered couldn’t be more relevant to your business today!

Legend has it that one day he noticed that 20% of the pea plants in his garden generated 80% of the healthy pea pods. This observation caused him to think about a disproportionate effort-effect framework. He thought about wealth and discovered that 80% of the land in Italy was owned by just 20% of the population. He investigated different industries and found that 80% of production typically came from just 20% of the companies. This same concept applies to your Chiropractic Clinic. 20% of (very) important activities, will typically generate 80% of the overall results.

In business (and in life) most things have an unequal distribution.

With that said - let me share what that 80/20 Principle is for your chiropractic practice. It’s what I call The Perfect Patient Journey.

I know what you’re thinking. The diagram seems terribly complex. But no panic. I will break it all down for you.

The Perfect Patient Journey is a visual representation. It’s a system to show you (and your team) exactly what needs to happen AND at what stage, in order to have a client who goes from not knowing anything about their health or your practice … to someone who feels great AND understands everything about their body, health, and wellbeing. (sidenote - this diagram basically describes my whole business model and how our whole team works)

The Framework is incredible. However, full transparency here - it might take you - 3 to 6 to 9 months to fully implement in your team and clinic, but once you’ve done it - I promise you - your business will be incredibly bulletproof, more profitable AND be able to deliver even better results to more patients.

The most simple version of the framework goes like this (but please bare in mind that I can only explain so much in an article format - when working with clinics - we try to customise the model to them as much as possible)

The Perfect Patient Journey System Explained:

Step 1: A person who needs chiropractic care finds you (internet, facebook, referral etc).

Automation: An auto trigger to welcome them to your practice. (email/sms/CRM)

Step 2: New Patient Consultation (we follow a framework within the framework)

Automation: Auto email triggered to set expectations

Step 3: ROF Appointment (we follow a 7 step process)

Automation: Auto email no.3 triggered (breaking down future expectations)

Step 4: Special 3rd Visit (we follow a 3 step process)

Automation: Email nurturing sequence gets triggered

Step 5: Progress Review (we follow a framework)

Automation: Email nurturing sequence continues

Step 6: Re-exam (we follow a framework)

Automation: New email sequence gets triggered based on outcomes

Step 7: Ongoing maintenance

Step 8: Maintenance Review (we follow a framework)

Step 9: Follow Up Maintenance Checks

Step 10: If people drop out of care they enter different email funnels

So guys … there you have it. Our entire model of how we get a client to go from not knowing what we do, to eventually becoming a raving fan of the practice and referring to us lots more happy clients.
